Bride&co Real Bride
Traditional Wedding Dresses in 2020
Wedding season is in full swing, and many of our brides are celebrating the union of 2 families on a hot summer’s day. With South Africa’s diverse cultures, we see a rise in couples merging both the traditional and western worlds in their wedding celebrations, with many contemporary brides opting to embrace a whole new concept of traditional wedding dresses in 2020.
Our Bride&co Real Bride, Sane Mahlase, did just that- opting to wear a special occasion gown, paired with bright African accents and embellishing- and a handsome hubby to match! Find out how Sane created her modern traditional wedding dress below!

Modern Bridal Trends
Sane is no stranger to the Bride&co family and we have been delighted to be a part of her vision for her big day. When Sane and husband, MK, visited our Bride&co Rivonia store, they both knew that they wanted wedding outfits which they could incorporate into their traditional ceremony look – and what better way to blend the best of both than with a Viola Chan gown, and a stylish Eurosuit tuxedo!
FOR THE BRIDE
The exclusive choice of Sane’s open-back mermaid dress in crepe, designed by Viola Chan, featured an elegant halterneck and added a contemporary and chic touch to Sane’s traditional wedding vision. Elegantly incorporated, the dress was accessorised with a beaded neck trim, and the finishing touch was a multi-coloured headwrap – adding signature to her new status as a married woman.
FOR THE Groom
We love how Sane’s husband, MK, completed the couple’s traditional wedding outfits with a navy slim fit tuxedo suit from Eurosuit. Mk’s tuxedo suit was complemented by an African print waistcoat to create a stylish traditional modern-day look.
Our bride and groom’s traditional wedding outfits definitely looked amazing! <3
